I started to dance at the early age of 4 some 56 years ago.
I am now fully qualified in Ballroom, Latin, Classical, Sequence, Rock N Roll and Freestyle giving me an excellent background into all forms of dance not only Ballroom and Latin.
My love of dancing originated in Ballroom and Latin and then extended to Classical & Sequence as we were encouraged to take exams in all branches.
These I continued until I had taken all exams possible with the ISTD giving me vast experience and knowledge that later helped me as a teacher and examiner.
As a juvenile competitor on the open circuit, I competed in all branches until the end of my junior career and in my early amateur career, I focused mainly on Ballroom & Latin.
After turning professional I started Classical again to enable me to teach this branch in our dance school.
Dancing on the open circuit helped develop my dancing further, gaining knowledge from many top teachers and coaches and also allowing me to become champion through all of the age groups and ranking amongst the top couples.
Taking my professional qualifications in 1990 I gained Highly Commended with marks of 95%. I then went on to gain higher qualifications that enabled me to judge championships in all grades and later become an examiner.
I have trained many successful dancers in the medallist system, with many of those winning first places and places in finals at medallist of the year for many years.
I also train many open couples on the circuit which we are still heavily involved with today.
I am a fully qualified examiner of the ABD.
As you can see I have 45 years dancing experience which I would bring to this role.
I am now very proud to be Head of Faculty in the ABD for Classical, a role that I hope will enable me to bring Classical to the schools of ABD and has allowed me to write the syllabus for this genre.
I am very passionate about my role as both a Dance teacher and examiner in all branches for the ABD
