Solos
An Opportunity/Novice dancer is a dancer who has not been placed (1st – 4th ) in either a Stage or a Classical discipline (either in an Opportunity/Novice or Open section) in either an ABD organised festival/competition or any other festival/competition that they have previously entered.
A decision has been made regarding sections offered by the ABD and these will be as follows:-
Junior Stage
Opportunity/Novice Solo
Junior Classical
Opportunity/Novice Solo
Inter Stage
Opportunity/Novice Solo
Inter Classical
Opportunity/Novice Solo
Senior Stage
Opportunity/Novice Solo
Senior Classical
Opportunity/Novice Solo
Competitors will be restricted to two (2) entries per age section and category.
Eg.
Junior Stage
1st Entry Tap & 2nd Entry Modern
Inter Classical
1st Entry Ballet & 2nd Entry Character
There will be NO Opportunity/Novice sections for Baby, Duets or Trios.
Troupes & Groups
There will be an Opportunity/Novice section for Troupes/Groups .
Here the ruling is the entered dance must not have been placed (1st – 3rd) in either a Stage or a Classical discipline (either in an Opportunity/Novice or Open section) in either an ABD organised festival/competition or any other festival/competition that it has previously taken part in.
